Sweet Home 3D is a free and open source interior design software program by eTeks. Sweet Home 3D is a free and open source interior design software program by eTeks. There are both desktop and online versions. You can download and use it in your computer or use it online. Both are free, it is your choice. It is specificly created for interior design not landscape design software.
The program is designed for quickly choosing and placing furniture on a house 2D plan drawn by the end-user, with a 3D preview. It is an open source application and distributed under GNU General Public License. Therefore, you can download and use it for free of charge. It is a cross platform interior design application, you can use on Windows, Mac OS X 10.4 to 10.6, Linux and Solaris. The program is available in multilingual including English, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Spanish, Swedish, Czech, Polish, Hungarian, Greek, Russian, Vietnamese, Chinese Simplified and Japanese.
Even it is a free application, but it provides features just like a professional interior design. The program provides 2D and 3D view feature where you can see how your design look like in both views at a time. With easy to use drag and drop interface, you can quickly add built-in furniture to your project. And all objects within the project will list with their specific values including depth, height, width and name. You can also visible or hide any object from design space. Here are list of build-in furniture:
- Bathroom: bath, fitted bath, shower, toilet unit, washbasin and washbasin with cabinet.
- Bedroom: bedside table, bunk bed, chest, corner bun bed, crib, double bed, loft double bed, single bed, sliding doors and wardrobe.
- Kitchen: clothes washer, cooker, dishwasher, fridge, fridge and freezer, kitchen cabinet and sink.
- Living room: aquarium, armchair, bar stool, bookcase, chair, coffee table, computer workstation, corner sofa, corner workstation, desk, dresser, fireplace, glass door cabinet, piano, plant, rectangular table, round table, sofa, square coffee table, square table, stool, table and TV unit.
- Miscellaneous: box, curtain, curtain rod, curve staircase, cylinder, electric radiator, railing, rounded edges railing, spiral staircase, staircase, venetian blind and workbench.
