I evaluated Pinnacle (never could get it to run on XP Pro or Vista PC’s – so I sent it back), Cyberlink, Magix, and Sony. I’ve been using Camtasia for a while and needed some advanced video editing. Sony was the hands-down favorite. Much more intuitive interface than the others. I can’t say whether it has all the same features and bells and whistles, but if you are looking for video editing software that is easy to install, quick and very intuitive, from a quality company – I’d recommend that you at try Sony before you buy anything else. Pinnacle was the only one without a trial – I would not buy video software without trying it on your PC first, to see how it runs and how you like the editing features and workflow.
