I had used QuickTax for a number of years... not any more. The price doubled a few years back and the # of returns went down. No value anymore.
For 2009 I used the online version, what a mistake.
I received a payout when my employer closed and one can transfer this to an RRSP, for which there is a section in QuickTax. BUT when I tried to Efile the program found an error with my income. There was NO problem. I contacted QuickTax a number of times and all of there suggestions were useless. Put stuff in... take stuff out... they never resolved the error and I never was able to Efile with QuickTax. I filed with Studio Tax without any error.
At least I was given a refund from Quicktax and sent that amount to Studio Tax .

Another person who has decided to drop Quick-tax software this year. I started the online version and it is so slow it was pitiful. I was showing that I owed 3 million and could not get it to change the number no matter what ?

The software was always very smooth but this years just seems buggy and I have read elsewhere there is problems with printing. I could not even get that far. It is overpriced for what you get and I to am going to change to u-file and save some money and aggravation!

We used Quicktax for many years. The year before, when we bought the software we didn't notice the fine prints that they limited the returns to max of 2. In May/June when we were submitting the returns we were stuck in the third return. So we tried to contact Quicktax to purchase the extra license but no-one returned our calls, Quicktax was dead silent. After sometime we were able to contact a technician and after many problems finally bought the extra license and submitted the third return.
For many years we had been too busy to try other software but the problem with Quicktax that year pushed us to explore and we found that Ufile was much cheaper but provided the same functionality as Quicktax. So we decided not to go back to Quicktax, why spend more money to buy a software that provide less returns and poor service?
