Firstly I have a quick comment for Brian Powell, I thought this review was for Norman Security Suite Pro NOT the Norton anti-virus product, perhaps your review should be on the Norton products page.

I currently use Norman Security Suite Pro, and have not had any virus's, worms, trojans or spyware problems since installing the suite.

The user interface is easy to understand and caters to the inexperienced user as well as the more technically advanced users. You have the option to go with the recommended settings for all the features that come with the suite or configue your own settings. Features include Anti-virus and Anti-spyware, Personal Firewall, Anti spam, Parental Controls, Privacy tools and Intrusion Guard, there is also a sub menu for all your Install and update functions.

Installation was easy and once I had installed the suite it then ran through my personal firewall options and gave me a full explanation for each option.

It has on demand and on access scanning of files and drives and also has an option to completely deleted documents or files on my system.

I was frustrated with the child parental control options because it uses a whitelisting approach (where you have to sitpulate all the sites your child is allowed to visit and all other sites are blocked but accessible using the administrator password), but the teenager parental controls option has time limit controls so I can control my teenagers access to the internet (although she usually discover's the administrators password).

I have disabled the built-in spam because I kept forgetting to check the spam folder and was missing emails from people who I don't hear from regularly.

The intrusion guard option enables experienced computer users to view all your ports and make rules concerning your ports.

My overall experience with Norman Security Suite is that it is a comprehensive, easy to use anti-virus suite and I will continue to use and recommend it to all my friends.

I have twice purchased Norton Anti-Virus software, most recently the 2009 suite. The first time I was infected with a worm. Norton told me that is was my problem, they did not provide any guarantee of protection, and that if I wanted help, I could pay by the hour for their tech support. The 2009 version let a variation of a common Trojan program evade its interface. Panda diagnosed and fixed both problems in addition to removing a variety of other malware that had elude Norton. I have had many discussions with other folks whose computers were infected while they were using Norton. It is my opinion that Norton rates so highly with the site reviewers because they pay the reviewers each time someone clicks on the site link to buy Norton.
