I have twice purchased Norton Anti-Virus software, most recently the 2009 suite. The first time I was infected with a worm. Norton told me that is was my problem, they did not provide any guarantee of protection, and that if I wanted help, I could pay by the hour for their tech support. The 2009 version let a variation of a common Trojan program evade its interface. Panda diagnosed and fixed both problems in addition to removing a variety of other malware that had elude Norton. I have had many discussions with other folks whose computers were infected while they were using Norton. It is my opinion that Norton rates so highly with the site reviewers because they pay the reviewers each time someone clicks on the site link to buy Norton.
