LiVES Review
LiVES is a simple video editing program which is formerly Linux video editing system, but now it supports more other operating systems. LiVES is a free software licensed under the GNU GPL. It mixes realtime video performance and non-linear editing in one professional application which is used by both professional VJ’s and video editors. It allows user to apply many effects including random/targeted zooming, panning of video, color cycling and colorization/color filtering; compositing of frames is possible such as frame-in-frame, fade in, fade out and transparency.
Claim itself, LiVES is good enough to be used as a VJ tool for professional performances, and as a video editor is capable of creating dazzling clips in a huge variety of formats.
System Requirement
- x86 800MHZ+ recommended. 2GHz+ Pentium/AMD for real time effects.
- 256MB+ memory for encoding, recommended 512 MB+
- 5 – 10+ GB disk space as a minimum, more is better
- GNU/Linux 2.x, BSD, or openMosix, also compiles under IRIX
