- Do you earn $56,000 or less? (Your adjusted gross income)
- And were you under 50 years old last year?
If you answer is YES to both of these questions, you quality. Then can start your free file return with H&R Block TaxCut. This free offer is only for federal tax. If you need to file state tax return, you need to pay money to the company.
After clicking on start your free file return, there are options to choose (1) create your user name and password now or (2) create your user name and password later. Choose option (2), you can try the program without creating an account, but you cannot save your entries.

I filed on Jan 8th and it said the IRS will approve it in 24-48 hours
and its now Jan 16th and it hasn’t been approved or rejected at all yet.
so i call h&r block customer service and they blamed it on the IRS is taking to long

Make sure your screen says “Free File” all of the way through. If, at any time, it says “Free Edition”, they will try to charge you a bunch of money.
