Are you looking for free tool to help you in project scheduling and management? GanttProject is one of them, a simple and easy to use free project management software program by GanttProject Team. The program is straightforward. With user friendly interface, you can simply start project planning right away after installation. This program is an open source project management tool and released under the GPL license. Therefore, you can download and use it for free of charge. It is available for multiple platforms including Windows, Linux and Mac. You can use it whether your computer is running Windows, Mac or Linux operating system.
Even, it is not a complete project management software program like Microsoft Project. But it provides various useful features for project scheduling and management such as Gantt chart, resources management and PERT chart. Gantt chart feature: allow you to create work breakdown structure, draw dependencies, define milestones, set begin and end date, priority, predecessors, duration and coordinator. Resources feature: you can assign human resources to work on tasks, see their allocation on the resource load chart. PERT chart: you can generate PERT chart from Gantt chart. After completing your project planning, you can use export feature to save charts as PNG images, generate PDF and HTML reports.
