As a complete backup newbie, this program seemed easier than other backup freeware. However, it would not work with my prefered firewall ZoneAlarm Free. Any solutionsd out there?

EASEUS Todo Backup is outstanding! Incredibly easy to use, effective and fairly fast. I tried to clone a new HDD for my laptop for 3 weeks. Between Macrium, DriveImageXML & Norton PartitionMagic I could not get the job done - all kinds of weird erros and failed images. Between ToDo backup and EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition (also free!), I got the job done easily. Also was able to rearrange partitions on all of my HDDS, and back them all up. I love these guys! Thank you SO much!

I’ve reviewed 3 freebie backup solutions before making my choice –Paragon Backup & Recovery, Macrium Reflect and Todo Backup. And, finally came to Paragon, because it has the widest range of backup & recovery options (differential backup; Automatic data exclusion; Built-in ability to create bootable USB Flash drive ; three recovery environments restore, GPT Volumes Support and Basic Partitioning) comparing to others and it simply does it says.

Regarding others, I've found in Macrium one major bug– it cannot restore an image from a larger hard disk to a smaller one, even if backed up data is less than that of your destination disk's capacity.

Regarding Todo backup –I couldn’t install it on Vista SP2.

So, the best choice is <a href="http://www.isoftwarereviews.com/paragon-backup-recovery-free-edition/" rel="nofollow">Paragon Backup & Recovery Free Edition</a>.

It's a good overall product, but in my machine (Notebook Windows Vista Ultimate SP1, single HardDisk with two partitions) the software revealed a bug (admitted by Easeus support): it always force a "sector-per-sector" backup, so very slow and waste of space. And the solutions proposed by support cannot be applied by me (other hard disk, many CHKDISK before a backup...).

Anyway the Easeus support has been very kind and fast. I'm afraid to uninstall it, but I go to other products now.
