Since Avid Free DV is no longer available, Avid Technology invites you to try out Avid Media Composer an Emmy and Academy-award winning film and video editor used by the most demanding professionals. It is offered on a trial version with full functionality for 14 days. Avid Media Composer is a professional package and not the cheap one.
