7-Zip is a free file compression software (open source software under the GNU LGPL license) with high compression ratio. 7-Zip is a product of Igor Pavlov. It can pack and unpack, self-extract, encrypt archived files and supports up to 74 languages.
7-Zip is available for Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, and Vista and Mac OS X. There is a port of the command line version to Linux/Unix. User can download the software at this file compression software website.
7-Zip Highlight Features:
- The software has high compression ratio in new 7z format with LZMA compression.
